Endometriosis

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is the occurrence of periods within the abdominal cavity because of the presence of endometriotic tissue ( Lining or uterine epithelium present inside the cavity of the uterus) due to various factors which cause the uterine lining to grow outside the uterus. This is a severe condition which might affect the day-to-day activities of a woman and it tends to present itself as severe abdominal pain or as pain that occurs during sexual intercourse.

This is different from Adenomyosis / Adenomyoma, which occurs due to the menstrual period occurring within the uterus musculature other than the uterine lining or endometrium. The person experiencing endometriosis suffers from severe pain during menstruation or experiences heavy periods with clots and tissues.

Rhea IVF and women’s hospitals are keenly interested in enhancing the lives of our patients with every method possible. We fight infertility with technology and innovation. One such methodology is hysteroscopy, which is a highly advanced technology that is effective in diagnosing and treating various gynaecological conditions.
